The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Task Force would like to share a brief update with the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) community regarding recent changes within our team and some of the work currently underway.
We are pleased to welcome Masumi Aonuma, from Japan, as a new member of the DEIA Task Force. We are grateful for her willingness to join us and look forward to the perspectives, experiences and contributions she will bring to our ongoing efforts. As an international organization, ITAA benefits greatly from the diversity of voices, cultures and experiences represented within our committees, and we are delighted to have Masumi joining our work.
At the same time, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Keiko Hoshino as she concludes her participation in the task force. We thank her for her commitment, thoughtful contributions and support of our work. We wish her every success in her future endeavors and remain grateful for the impact she has had on the team.
The DEIA Task Force was established to support ITAA in strengthening diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility throughout the organization. Our role is to listen to members' experiences, identify opportunities for growth, collaborate with committees and stakeholders and offer recommendations that help ITAA embody its values in both strategic and operational ways. We are committed to fostering open dialogue, mutual respect and collaboration across our international community. We believe that meaningful inclusion is an ongoing process that benefits from listening to a wide range of voices and experiences.
One of our current projects focuses on understanding inclusive practices in Transactional Analysis (TA) training. In the coming weeks, we will be inviting members to participate voluntarily in a multilingual survey and, potentially, follow-up discussion groups. Our interest is to learn from trainers across different countries, cultures and fields of application about their experiences supporting learners with diverse needs. We hope to identify good practices, challenges and opportunities that can help strengthen inclusive and accessible TA training throughout our community.
We recognize that many members have developed creative and effective approaches within their own cultural and professional contexts, and we would be honored to learn from those experiences. We look forward to sharing more information soon and warmly invite interested members to participate when the opportunity becomes available. Thank you for your continued engagement and support as we work together toward a more inclusive and accessible ITAA.
