The International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA), a nonprofit corporation established under the laws of California, USA, operates the ITAA Platform (“Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including:

  • The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and relevant U.S. regulations;
  • The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR); and
  • The Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD – Law No. 13.709/2018).

By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue your use of the Platform.

If users enable a public profile, additional optional data—such as country, professional role, or social links—may be displayed at their discretion.

4. Purpose of Data Processing

Your personal information is collected and processed for the following purposes:

  • To manage user registration and authentication;
  • To provide access to restricted or member-exclusive resources;
  • To send platform updates, notices, and organizational communications;
  • To enable contact through the direct messaging form;
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, and tax obligations applicable to nonprofit entities;
  • To maintain the security and proper operation of the Platform.

We process your data based on your consent, legitimate organizational interest, and, when applicable, the performance of a contractual relationship.

The ITAA Platform uses cookies to:

  • Improve navigation and performance;
  • Analyze website usage;
  • Manage user preferences and authentication sessions.

Users can review and modify cookie preferences at any time via the cookie management tool.
Essential cookies are required for proper functioning and cannot be disabled.

6. Communications and Notifications

Upon registration, your email address is automatically added to our distribution list to receive messages related to Platform operations and ITAA announcements.
You may withdraw your consent or change preferences at any time by updating your account settings or clicking “unsubscribe” in our emails.

Data may be transferred internationally, including to the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (for EU users) or contractual agreements consistent with LGPD and CCPA requirements.

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless longer retention is required by law or for organizational recordkeeping.
Users may request deletion of their accounts and associated personal data at any time (see Section 10).

9. Data Security

The ITAA implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or destruction.
These include encryption, secure access controls, and continuous monitoring of the Platform’s integrity.
No online system, however, can guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights:

Under GDPR (EU residents):

  • Access to your personal data;
  • Correction of inaccurate data;
  • Deletion (“right to be forgotten”);
  • Restriction of processing;
  • Data portability;
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests.

Under LGPD (Brazilian residents):

  • Confirmation of processing;
  • Access, correction, or deletion of personal data;
  • Portability and anonymization;
  • Revocation of consent;
  • Information about data sharing and purposes.

Under CCPA (California residents):

  • Right to know categories of personal data collected;
  • Right to request deletion of personal information;
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of data (note: ITAA does not sell user data).

The ITAA will respond within legally mandated timelines.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 16 years of age.
The ITAA does not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian believes that a minor has provided personal information, they should contact us immediately for removal.

12. Updates to this Policy

The ITAA may amend this Privacy Policy periodically. Updated versions will be published on the Platform with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Significant changes will be communicated to registered users by email or notification banner.
