Dear colleagues,

We hope this call for examiners finds you well.

The next International Board of Certification (IBOC) online Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) and Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA) exams will take place Oct. 1-3, 2026.

IBOC is also running a set of in-person CTA and TSTA exams in Wellington, New Zealand, Dec. 3-4, 2026.

We invite all Certified Transactional Analysts (CTA), Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analysts (PTSTA), and Supervising and Teaching Transactional Analysts (TSTA, STA, TTA) to register to take part in these exam events in different roles:

  • Examiner, chairperson or observer to the board in the CTA exams.
  • Examiner, chairperson or observer to the board in the TSTA exams (only STAs, TTAs or TSTAs).
  • Volunteer in the TSTA exams (CTAs or PTSTAs to be a supervisee in an STA exam, an audience member in a TTA exam or support a TTA exam as a Zoom assistant).
  • Process facilitator (only TSTAs).

We sincerely hope you are interested in participating in these exam events, as we expect many candidates. Below are links to two Google registration forms where you can choose how you wish to be involved. There is one form for the online exams in October and a separate one for the in-person exams in New Zealand. The precise plans for the New Zealand exams will be confirmed in due course.

For the online October exams, all CTA exams will likely take place Thursday, Oct. 1, and Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. However, because the application deadline has not passed, we cannot confirm that yet. The TSTA exams will take place Thursday, Oct. 1, Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026.

We are running our established free IBOC Zoom training Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 6 to 8 a.m. UK time. Here, we speak about issues involved in online examining related to using Zoom and making contact in the two-dimensional space. The Zoom training is mandatory for examiners and volunteers who have not participated before. Everyone is welcome. You can declare your participation in the Google form below.

As with our last two sets of online exams, there will be two mandatory examiner briefings:

  • Examiner Briefing 1 (for all examiners together) will be Monday, Sept. 28. For your convenience, we offer the same content at two different times that day. You can choose in the registration form below to join from either 6 to 7 a.m. or 4 to 5 p.m. UK time.
  • Examiner Briefing 2 (separate for CTA and TSTA examiners) will be Thursday, Oct. 1, before the exams start, from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. UK time.

We kindly remind you that we will have to remove you from the examiner list if you miss one of those two mandatory briefings. This will force us to find a replacement on very short notice. Please sign up to be part of these exams only if you can commit to attending both briefings. We account for the fact that the time you will give for this is precious. Experience shows that splitting the briefing into two one-hour sessions, instead of having a two-hour session at the beginning of the exam days, reduces stress and creates more space for preparation.

If you are interested in being involved in these exams — which we certainly hope — please fill out the Google forms below as soon as possible, ideally by June 12, 2026.

Online call for examiner form (Oct. 1-3, 2026)

Live call for examiner form for New Zealand (Dec. 3-4, 2026)

Once you fill out the forms, your details will be saved in our database and used only to organize the exams. Please note you will not receive a confirmation email. We will contact you in the second half of August 2026.

We understand cancellations occur, and life events happen unexpectedly. In previous online exams, an average of 10% of registered examiners and volunteers canceled, some on short notice. Cancellations put pressure on the process. If you realize after registering that you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible.

If you have questions, please reach out. We look forward to both exam events and this important opportunity to meet, evaluate, learn and celebrate together as a global Transactional Analysis community.
